Creamy, fruity and naturally satisfying, this strawberry smoothie is one of our favourite ways to enjoy a daily scoop of Nourie Skin. Greek yogurt brings creaminess and probiotics, while a slightly green frozen banana adds resistant starch and helps create that thick, almost ice cream-like texture.
What you'll need
- ½ slightly green banana, sliced and frozen
- 1 dl Greek yogurt
- 1 dl frozen strawberries
- 1 scoop Nourie Skin
- A splash of cold water, as needed
Optional topping
- A drizzle of almond butter
How to make it
- Add the frozen banana, Greek yogurt, strawberries and Nourie Skin to a high-speed blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a little cold water at a time until you reach your preferred consistency.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy straight away. If you want something a little richer, finish with a drizzle of almond butter.
Why a slightly green banana?
We like to freeze bananas while they're still slightly green rather than waiting until they're fully ripe. Less-ripe bananas contain more resistant starch, a type of carbohydrate that behaves similarly to fibre and can act as a prebiotic, providing fuel for beneficial bacteria in the gut. As bananas ripen, more of that starch is converted into sugars.
Together with probiotic Greek yogurt, it makes this smoothie a simple way to bring both prebiotic and probiotic foods into your morning — alongside your daily scoop of Nourie Skin.
