Hero ingredients
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present throughout the body, including in the skin. We use 120 mg in Nourie Skin — a dose that has also been studied in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trials.
In one 12-week study of healthy adults aged 35–64, 120 mg of oral hyaluronic acid daily resulted in significant improvements in skin elasticity, hydration and other measured skin parameters compared with placebo. A more recent randomized controlled trial in 150 healthy adults also found that 120 mg daily significantly improved skin hydration and elasticity and reduced wrinkle depth versus placebo.(2)
Vitamin C isn't simply associated with collagen — it plays a biochemical role in its formation. It acts as an essential cofactor for enzymes involved in stabilising newly formed collagen and has also been shown to influence collagen production in human skin fibroblasts.
Research in human dermal cells has demonstrated increased type I and III collagen synthesis and gene expression in the presence of vitamin C.
Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair. Its reputation as a general “hair-growth supplement”, however, goes further than the clinical evidence does.
A recent evidence review found little high-quality support for biotin supplementation improving hair growth in otherwise healthy individuals. The clearest benefit appears in people with true biotin deficiency or specific underlying conditions.
Zinc is an essential mineral involved in a wide range of cellular processes. Deficiency can present with changes affecting the skin, hair and nails, and zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails.
The clinical literature is much stronger for the importance of adequate zinc status than for the idea that additional zinc improves already healthy hair or nails. Reviews of micronutrients and hair biology consistently identify zinc deficiency as a relevant factor in certain forms of hair loss.

Selenium is incorporated into selenoproteins, including enzymes involved in the body's antioxidant defence systems. It contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Research also shows that selenium balance matters: both deficiency and excessive intake can be associated with changes in hair and nails. For that reason, selenium is a good example of why more isn't necessarily better.

Vitamin E is a lipid-soluble antioxidant and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
In a human intervention study, oral vitamin E supplementation increased vitamin E concentrations in skin and reduced one measured marker of lipid oxidation following UV exposure. Importantly, the study did not show broad photoprotection — a useful reminder that antioxidant biology is more nuanced than “protects the skin from the sun”.

Inulin is a fermentable fibre found naturally in plants including chicory root. Research in humans consistently shows that chicory-derived inulin-type fructans can influence the composition of the gut microbiota.
A systematic review of human studies found that the most consistent change following inulin supplementation was an increase in Bifidobacterium. A later meta-analysis of 50 trials involving more than 2,500 participants also found that chicory-derived inulin-type fructans significantly increased Bifidobacterium abundance and showed benefits for bowel function in healthy participants.

Glutamine is a naturally occurring amino acid used extensively by rapidly dividing cells, including cells of the intestinal epithelium.
Human studies have investigated whether supplemental glutamine can influence intestinal permeability, particularly under physiological stress. Some randomized trials have found reduced exercise-induced intestinal permeability, although the wider clinical literature is mixed and effects appear to depend heavily on dose and population.

Glycine is a simple amino acid — and the most abundant amino acid in collagen. It forms part of the repeating molecular structure that allows collagen to assemble into its characteristic triple helix.
Experimental research in human dermal fibroblasts has also shown that glycine can increase collagen production in cultured cells. This is mechanistically interesting, but it should not be confused with evidence that oral glycine supplementation improves skin in humans.

HMB is a metabolite of the amino acid leucine and has been studied for its role in protein metabolism.
Human studies show that HMB can stimulate muscle protein synthesis and reduce protein breakdown. In one study, a single dose increased muscle protein synthesis by approximately 70%.
Protein synthesis is fundamental to the body's renewal of tissue, including structural proteins such as collagen.

FAQ
What is Nourie Skin?
Nourie Skin is a food supplement designed to support the skin’s natural structure and function from within.
The formula contains carefully selected amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that play an important role in maintaining normal skin function.
How does Nourie Skin work?
Nourie Skin is designed to support the skin’s structure and function through a combination of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and prebiotic fiber.
The formula works through several complementary mechanisms in the body:
1. Building blocks for the body’s protein structure
Skin Therapy contains the amino acids glycine, glutamine, and HMB. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are used in many biological processes, including the formation of structural proteins in the body such as collagen.
2. Support for normal collagen formation
Skin Therapy contains vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, according to authorised EU health claims.
3. Nutrients that contribute to normal skin function:
- Zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin
- Biotin, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin
4. Protection against oxidative stress
Skin cells are continuously exposed to internal and external factors that may contribute to oxidative stress. Skin Therapy includes selenium and vitamin E, which contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
5. Support for the gut microbiota
The formula also includes inulin from chicory root, a natural prebiotic fiber. Prebiotic fibers help nourish beneficial gut bacteria and support a balanced gut microbiota.
The connection between the gut and the skin is often referred to as the skin-gut axis, an emerging area of research in both dermatology and nutritional science.
Together, these components are selected to support several factors that are important for the skin’s structure and normal function.
What makes Nourie Skin different from other skin supplements?
Skin Therapy is developed using a science-based formulation with ingredients that have been clinically studied in relation to skin health.
The formula supports three key areas:
1. Nutritional support for skin structure, hair and nails.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation, while zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin.
2. Protection against oxidative stress
Selenium and vitamin E contribute to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
3. Support for gut microbiota
Skin Therapy also contains inulin from chicory root, a prebiotic fiber that helps nourish beneficial gut bacteria.
In addition, Nourie Skin has clinical documentation. In a study where participants used the product daily for 8 weeks, the following results were observed:
- up to 22% increase in skin elasticity
- 100% of participants showed improved skin elasticity
- 70% felt their skin looked and felt firmer
When can I expect results?
The skin’s natural renewal cycle typically takes around 4–8 weeks.
Many people begin to notice changes within this timeframe, although individual results may vary depending on lifestyle, diet, and skin type.
Who is Nourie Skin for?
Nourie Skin is designed for adults who want to support their skin from within.
It may be especially suitable for people who:
- want to support natural collagen formation
- notice changes in skin elasticity
- want to complement their skincare routine with nutritional support
Does Nourie Skin contain collagen?
No it doesn’t contain collagen, instead it is a vegan-friendly formula designed to support your body's natural collagen production. Instead of using animal-derived collagen, our formula is designed to support the body's natural collagen production.
Is Nourie Skin vegan?
Yes. Nourie Skin is 100% vegan and contains no animal-derived ingredients.
Where is Nourie Skin made?
Nourie Skin is manufactured in Sweden under strict quality standards for food supplements.
When is the best time to take Nourie Skin?
You can take Nourie Skin at any time of the day, but for optimal absorption, we recommend having it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and wait 10–15 minutes before eating breakfast to reduce the risk of stomach acid affecting the ingredients before your body has a chance to absorb them.
Can I mix Nourie Skin in a hot drink?
No, and here’s why: vitamin C — one of the key ingredients in our formula that contributes to normal collagen formation and supports the normal function of the skin — is sensitive to heat and can degrade at higher temperatures (this applies to all supplements containing vitamin C). Mixing it with a cold beverage helps preserve its quality and effectiveness.
